Adult volunteer intakes are coordinated three times a year with the group hospital orientations scheduled in October, March and July.

Application intakes and interviews are currently underway for Spring 2013. Prospective volunteers are invited to send their application, including a letter of reference, to Volunteer Resources up to Friday, March 22, 2013. Volunteer Resources will contact all prospective volunteers regarding the status of their application.

Please note some areas may not have vacancies in the program. Volunteer Resources will make every effort to match you with the volunteer opportunity that meets your interests and abilities.

Requirements
  • Application, screening, interview, reference check, orientation and training.
  • A criminal record search may be required.
  • Minimum Age: 19 years (for those aged between 14 - 18, refer to Volunteen application process below)
  • Minimum Commitment: 75 hours or 6 months or a time agreed to by both parties (shifts range from 2-6 hours once or twice a week).

Volunteen Program
Students ages 14 to 18 years who live and/or attend school in Maple Ridge/Pitt Meadows are invited to apply to the program.  Students enrolled in School District 42 pick up and submit their application package directly to their school career centre.  Students attending private school or are home-schooled pick-up and submit their application package directly to Volunteer Resources.  Please note that only a limited number of applications can be considered for each intake.

Requirements (specific to the Volunteen Program):
  • Live and/or attend school in Maple Ridge/Pitt Meadows
  • Application, screening, interview, reference check, orientation and training
  • A criminal record search may be required
  • Age: 14-18 years
  • Be able to commit to the duration of the entire program
  • Be able to commit to a regular shift once a week

Regular Volunteen Program – September to May
Applications are due by mid-September. Important dates will be specified on the application form when available.

1.5 – 2 hour shifts occur regularly once a week (same shift each week)

Summer Volunteen Program – July to August
Applications are due by mid-May.  Important dates will be specified on the application form when available.

5 hour shifts occur regularly once a week (same shift each week)
