Overdose awareness and naloxone training

Prevent an overdose, save a life! Overdose awareness and naloxone training.

Fraser Health in partnership with Delta Community Partners will host its second free overdose prevention, recognition and response training on January 16 at the South Delta Recreation Centre. The drop-in event is open to everyone and will teach participants how to provide life-saving measures in the event of a drug overdose both with, and without the medication naloxone (Narcan). Take Home Naloxone kits will be available only for individuals at risk for overdose as per the BCCDC policy.

Early recognition and response to overdose is key to reducing harm and saving lives. These events will help to build capacity within your community to respond to the public health emergency related to overdoses.

These awareness events are part of the comprehensive Fraser Health Overdose Response Strategy, increasing overdose recognition and response training in Delta, and engaging community partners on overdose prevention and response.
