Bradley Centre is a residential care facility located on the second floor of Chilliwack General Hospital. Its four wings extend out from a centrally located nursing station. The patio provides a beautiful setting for residents and families to enjoy.  Fraser Health operated site.

How do I access residential care?

Access to subsidized residential care units is through a Home Health assessment. For more information on subsidized units, contact the Home Health office nearest you. Please do not contact the Operator directly regarding subsidized units.

Building amenities

Our occupational therapist and rehabilitation assistant provide exercise programs and ensure that residents’ seating and mobilization needs are met to ensure comfort and optimum independence.

Accreditation status

YES:  Nov 2010 through Nov 2013.
Accreditation is an external peer review process to assess and improve the services health care organizations provide to their patients and clients, based on standards of excellence set by Accreditation Canada or the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).

Type of accommodation

Total beds:  95; 95 publicly subsidized residential care beds. 

Basics include bed, bedside counter and drawers, bedside lighting, personal closet, towels, linen

You may also bring a small radio/CD player, 19” TV fastened to wheeled microwave-type stand, pictures, plants

Items to bring include personal clothing, comforter, toiletries (items must be marked with the resident’s name)


Residents pay 80% of their after-tax income which covers the cost of food and accommodation.

Special recreation opportunities

Recreation and activity programming includes weekly programs, gardening, crafts and baking, bowling and entertainers; own bus for outings.  We have a morning coffee hour and Friday tea; family and friends are encouraged to join us.


Motorized scooters are not permitted in the unit due to limited hallway space constraints. A wheelchair accessible elevator is available to the public.

Pet policy

Families and friends may bring their pets to visit provided the animal has current immunizations and is under the owner’s control at all times. Volunteers also bring in pets to visit with residents on a regular basis; this activity is run by the recreation program.

Smoking policy

There is no smoking permitted in Bradley Centre.

Safety/security features

Bradley Centre is a secure building with keypad access on exit doors. Two elevators, located across from the nursing station, provide easy access to those with mobility limitations. A wandering alarm system is available if necessary.

Nearby public transportation.

Facility-specific restrictions

Provides 24-hour professional nursing services to people who are no longer able to stay at home safely.

Any other amenities

Music therapy, dental services, podiatry services, on-site beauty salon. Bradley Centre’s gardening enthusiasts are supported by a volunteer from the Community Garden Club; regular visits enhance our outdoor space on a seasonal basis.  Pay parking is available for visitors.
