How do I access assisted living?

| Contact | Access to subsidized assisted living units is through a Home Health assessment. For more information on subsidized units, contact the local Home Health office nearest you. Please do not contact the Operator directly regarding subsidized units. For information on market units, please refer to the Seniors Housing Information Program (SHIP) directory. |
| Building amenities | We serve two meals daily plus snacks. Weekly light housekeeping and laundering of flat linen and towels are included. |
| Language, culture, religious affiliations | We have no on-site worship services. |
| Type of accommodation | 58 publicly subsidized units. All units are complete with a stove and full-sized refrigerator. Residents provide their own furnishings. |
| Cost | Residents pay 70% of their after-tax income which covers: 1) monthly rental accommodation; 2) hospitality services: two meals and two snacks daily, weekly housekeeping, flat laundry, etc.; 3) personal care; and 4) on-site emergency response system. Residents on income assistance pay a flat rate. Items not included as part of the monthly fee include: telephone, cable, hydro, personal laundry, household and toiletry supplies, medications, personal care products and insurance. |
| Special recreation opportunities | On-site activities include Bingo, cards, movies, exercise, computer, reading, walking clubs and daytrips. |
| Accessibility | Residents must be able to move around in their own apartment with or without the use of mobility aids. Electric wheelchairs designed for indoor use may be permitted with pre-approval of the Executive Director. Motorized scooters are for outside use only; parking is available in the scooter room on the main floor. |
| Pet policy | We cannot accommodate pets. |
| Smoking policy | Smoking is not permitted as per policy. |
| Safety/security features | Omega wireless system with a personal neck pendant. Cameras, interphone and limited swipe-card access to upstairs. |
| Neighbourhood/community amenities | A community centre, library, church, bank and mall with Army and Navy, IGA, pharmacy, hairdresser and video store are nearby. |
| Residence-specific restrictions | Offers hospitality and personal assistance services to seniors and adults with disabilities. |
| Any other amenities | There are four visitor parking spaces; underground parking is available to residents for a charge. |
