How do I access assisted living?

Contact | Access to subsidized assisted living units is through a Home Health assessment. For more information on subsidized units, contact the local Home Health office nearest you. Please do not contact the Operator directly regarding subsidized units. For information on market units, please refer to the Seniors Housing Information Program (SHIP) directory. |
Building amenities | Continental breakfast, hot lunch and dinner. Afternoon and evening snacks. Weekly housekeeping and linen service is available, including washing of linens and towels and a light cleaning in the suite. |
Language, culture, religious affiliations | Freedom Place is not affiliated with any specific cultural, ethnic, or religious group. Rather, we welcome cultural diversity, and invite everyone to add their own backgrounds and preferences to our rich mosaic. |
Type of accommodation | 20 publicly subsidized units. Each unit has a fridge, stove top and microwave. |
Cost | Residents pay 70% of their after-tax income which covers: 1) monthly rental accommodation; 2) hospitality services: two meals and two snacks daily, weekly housekeeping, flat laundry, etc.; 3) personal care; and 4) on-site emergency response system. Residents on income assistance pay a flat rate. Items not included as part of the monthly fee include: telephone, cable, hydro, personal laundry, household and toiletry supplies, medications, personal care products and insurance. |

Accessibility | Residents must be able to move around in their own apartment with or without the use of mobility aids. Scooters are stored in suites. |
