The Mountain View Manor building has main floor access. There are two wings, North and South. We have a large dining and recreation room with the recent addition of a large sunroom. The grounds of Mountain View are expansive and well treed. A large south-facing outdoor area has patio furniture and a water feature. Fraser Health operated site.

How do I access residential care?

Access to subsidized residential care units is through a Home Health assessment. For more information on subsidized units, contact the Home Health office nearest you. Please do not contact the Operator directly regarding subsidized units.

Building amenities

We have a number of patios, meeting rooms and social areas. Food is served “dining room” style with fresh flowers on dining tables. A large greenhouse is used by staff, residents and volunteers to provide year-round beauty to the gardens.

Language, culture, religious affiliations

Community church groups share non-denominational Sunday afternoon church worship services. We hold a monthly Catholic Mass and Protestant communion.
The recreation team recognizes cultural events such as Chinese New Year, Robbie Burns Day, and St. Patrick's Day. Our dietary services adapt special meals to accommodate ethnic preferences. Many visiting community groups entertain and enhance cultural celebrations.

Accreditation status

YES: Nov 2010 through Nov 2013.
Accreditation is an external peer review process to assess and improve the services health care organizations provide to their patients and clients, based on standards of excellence set by Accreditation Canada or the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).

Philosophy of care

Mountain View Manor provides supportive care to individual residents and their families. This supportive care acknowledges the individual’s rights to enhanced quality of life through the provision of quality programs.

The interdisciplinary team at Mountain View Manor provides services that support the care of the resident’s physical, emotional and psychosocial needs.

We believe that each resident is a unique individual and, as such, his or her values of health and illness will be treated with respect and dignity. We encourage and acknowledge the resident’s right to be a partner in their care process.

Type of accommodation

Total beds: 92 publicly subsidized residential care beds. We maintain an internal waitlist for private and semi-private rooms; some rooms available for couples.

Basics include bed, bedside table, towels, linen, and incontinence products.

You may also bring radio, TV, personal mementoes, pictures, plants.

Items to bring include personal clothing; items for daily routine such as toothpaste, razor, comb, body lotion, make-up, costume jewelry, money for comforts account.

Cost

Residents pay 80% of their after-tax income which covers the cost of food and accommodation.

Special recreation opportunities

Recreation and activity programming activities are provided seven days a week; own wheelchair-accessible bus for outings.

Parking and electrical outlets for wheelchairs/scooters.

Pet policy

Birds, fish, rabbit and cat for residents to enjoy.  Family and volunteers are encouraged to bring suitable pets to visit.

Smoking policy

Mountain View is a designated non-smoking site; however, we have a covered outdoor smoking area for residents.

Secure grounds at side and rear of building.

Nearby public transportation.

Facility-specific restrictions

Provides 24-hour professional nursing services to people who are no longer able to stay at home safely.

On-site hairdressing salon.  The large library is filled with large print books available for loan. We have significant volunteer involvement.  Open and easily accessible parking area.
