Language, culture, religious affiliations | Our dietary services department offers three types of vegetarian diets and accommodates other special diets as required. We have church services almost every Sunday, and include Christian, Presbyterian, Baptist, and Pentecostal. Our residents represent many different cultures. |

Philosophy of care | The Peace Arch Hospital Geriatrics Services work collaboratively with elderly clients, their families, and other health care providers in our community and region to promote optimal physical, mental, and social well-being for our residents. Our philosophy is centered around two major beliefs; first that each person is an individual of inherent worth and dignity with unique needs, expectations, hopes and dreams and second, that those needs are best met in a thoughtful, collaborative and professional way. |
Type of accommodation | Total beds: 234; 214 publicly subsidized residential care beds, 20 DVA beds (combined total for Dr Al Hogg and Weatherby pavilions). Basics include bed, dresser, lamp, towels and linen. You may also bring radio, TV, personal chair (if space available), pictures, plants. Items to bring include personal clothing (including pajamas), toiletries, electric razor, washable quilt. Comfort account can be arranged. |
Cost | Residents pay 80% of their after-tax income which covers the cost of food and accommodation. |
Special recreation opportunities | Recreational programs; two wheelchair lift-equipped buses for community outings; adapted aquatics program. |

Pet policy | Pet visits are welcome. Family pets visit the resident only. Approval for contact with other residents can be arranged through the social worker or volunteer services; suitable pets become volunteers of “Pets and Friends” or the St. John Ambulance Therapy Program. Our pet policy is available upon request. |
Smoking policy | Beds with access to the smoking gazebo are designated for residents who smoke. These beds are limited to one unit. |
