What does it mean to be "diversity competent"?
We embrace diversity and aim to live our values of respect, caring and trust in all our relationships. We are committed to providing quality care that respects the dignity of all individuals without discrimination.
To meet the needs of our diverse population and to increase cultural safety/competency, staff have access to diversity education, translation services, interpreter services, diversity consultations, and support with culturally sensitive messaging.
We've also created a set of diversity competency standards that defines what it means for healthcare providers to be “diversity competent”. These standards guide the development of educational tools and resources for all staff in diversity competency.
We also work with the community to help reduce health disparities and barriers to accessing quality health services. To contact us, email our team at firstname.lastname@example.org.
