What is acquired brain injury?Brain injuries result from many different things. When we use the term Acquired Brain Injury we refer to brain damage from a trauma resulting from falls, assaults, blows to the head, damage from automobile or other accidents or from tumors, strokes or aneurysms. It is important to note that an acquired brain injury does not include developmental disabilities such as Cerebral Palsy or Down Syndrome, nor degenerative conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis or Alzheimer disease.
