What is Acquired Brain Injury?

Brain injuries can result from many different things. But when we use the term Acquired Brain Injury it refers to brain damage that results from a trauma resulting from falls, assaults, blows to the head, damage from automobile or other accidents, or from tumours, strokes or aneurysms. It is important to note that Acquired Brain Injury does not include developmental disabilities such as Cerebral Palsy or Downs Syndrome, nor degenerative conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis or Alzheimer's disease.
