Queen's Park is currently being renovated to provide a comfortable and warm home setting. Resident focused care is what drives our passion.
A multicultural home, we strive to be on the leading edge of new programs and services for residents.
Queen's park has 160 publicly subsidized residential care beds consisting of 24 single occupancy rooms, two double occupancy rooms and 32 multiple occupancy rooms.
|Room features and personalization||Shared rooms, with a built in night side table, a wardrobe and a bathroom.
Residents are encouraged to bring in a small tv, as well as some personal belongings.
|Accessibility||Located on the 2nd floor with an accessible courtyard garden and a variety of views from parks to river.|
|Security||We have a wanderguard system with plans to upgrade in the future.|
|Smoking||We currently have a smoking gazebo on the ground level in the back garden area. Independently mobile and cognitive residents are permitted to access this area.
*We are currently closed to admissions for smokers, due to our high numbers of residents who smoke.**
|Location information||Centrally located in New Westminster on a bus route. Shopping amenities and restaurants are a short bus or taxi ride away.
Wifi is available in the common areas.
|Additional site features||We have a small gift shop in the lobby.
We have a family room with computer access and spaces available for small family gatherings.
|Parking and transportation||There is onsite paid parking next to the building and there is a bus stop at the front of the building.|
|Social and recreation programs||We have recreational programs 7 days per week and several evenings. We have a full time music therapist and bus outings. For those who choose to be involved there is a family and resident council.|
|Spiritual program||A part time spiritual care co-ordinator is available for support. When available other spiritual community leaders will visit our home.|
|Pets||Dogs are permitted to visit in the residents rooms. They must be on-leash and up to date on vaccinations.|
|Medical assistance in dying||On-site provision is available.|
|Hairdressing||On site for fee.|
|Foot and nail care||On site for fee.|
|Additional services||There are full time social work, physiotherapist and occupational therapists on site.
In addition, we have a dental hygienist to assess and provide oral care as needed.

Clients must meet Home and Community Care requirements and criteria for admission. A health care needs assessment will be completed to confirm eligibility. See website for more information.
Referral by case manager at a Home and Community Care office is required. To access service call the Home Health Service Line for more information; do not contact the care home directly.
There is a monthly accommodation fee; additional fees may apply for incidental services.
