The Taxpayer Accountability Principles strengthens accountability, improves the management of public funds, and revitalize the relationship between government and public sector organizations.

The principles will be used in the operation of provincial public sector organizations. These principles include the following:

  • Accountability
  • Appropriate compensation
  • Service
  • Respect
  • Integrity

How will the new principles be used?

The taxpayer accountability principles will be built into the ongoing business of provincial public sector entities to ensure the decisions they make reflect the priorities and values of government and their shareholders — the citizens of B.C.
