Community Conversations: Finding and Using Health Research is a free public event for patients, public, and family and friend caregivers to learn about finding and using health research.
The event includes informative presentations, and a talk show style conversation and a light meal.The presentations include Dr. Battersby, philosopher, author, and expert on critical thinking, on interpreting health research. Then Fraser Health medical librarian Brooke Scott will share useful tips and tricks on finding reliable sources with her talk 'Dr. Google'.
The evening will be capped with the talk show style conversation hosted by Shushma Datt and guests: Miranda Tymoschuk (patient partner), Grace Park (family physician), and Tania Bubela (Dean of Health Sciences, SFU). They will explore challenges, opportunities, and tips for finding and using health research with lots of time for audience questions.
