Patient Care System 2 (PCS2) and Emergency Department Manager (EDM) for Abbotsford Regional Hospital (ARH).

What's happening at Abbotsford Regional Hospital?

  • Documentation is part of our every day care for our patients. The Integrated Plan of Care (IPoC) project team has designed the Patient Care System 2 (PCS2) and Emergency Department Manager (EDM) modules to incorporate Care Standards and support patient care-workflows (e.g., admission, assessments, care planning, interventions, etc.).
  • Electronic documentation for Maternity-Postpartum, Neonatal Intensive Care (NICU), Pediatrics, and Emergency Department will Go-Live on April 24, 2018.

How does this impact students and faculty instructors at ARH?

  • Between April 24 and May 8, 2018 student placements will be limited to preceptorships and speciality nursing placements only. This is to allow for Fraser Health employees to become familiar with using the PCS2 and EDM systems.
  • Any other student placements that are scheduled to begin prior to the Go-Live date shall be rescheduled to begin from Wednesday, May 9 onwards.

How will students and faculty instructors be supported with education?

  • Computer-Based Training (CBT) modules will be made available to students and faculty instructors to receive the same training as staff.
  • Students in Maternity, NICU, and Pediatrics: The EMR and PCS2 CBT modules are available on Learning Hub for registration.
  • Students in the Emergency Department: The EMR and PCS2 CBT modules  are available on Learning Hub for registration. The EDM module has been launched as of March 19, 2018.

  • All training must be complete prior to April 24, 2018.
