Chartwell Carlton Care Residence is a long term care community located in Burnaby that offers the availability of 24-hour nursing care and supervision in a secure, modern and welcoming setting.

Chartwell Carlton Care Residence underwent a $27 million redevelopment in 2012, and as a result we offer modern and updated amenity spaces, including dedicated lounges, activity rooms and beautiful outdoor space for residents and family to enjoy. Our residence is comfortable and our staff is caring and friendly, which is why our residents are happy to call us home.
Carlton Care Residence has a unique focus on culturally-specific programming, including Chinese and Italian social clubs.
The residence has 128 long term care beds; 117 beds are publicly subsidized. There are 116 single occupancy and six double occupancy rooms.
|Room features and personalization||
Suites include a bed, bedside table with lamp and a wardrobe. Our residence provides linens, bedding and towels.
Residents and their families are encouraged to personalize their rooms with pictures, photos and other decorations.
Residents may bring a small TV or personal furniture by prior arrangement.
|Accessibility||All areas of our residence are wheelchair accessible. We also feature rooms designated as bariatric.|
|Security||Our entrance, stairwells and neighbourhood entrances are all key-padded. Wanderguard is available. CCTV is located in common areas.|
|Smoking||Resident-only smoking is available in the designated outdoor area.|
|Location information||Our residence is located close to public transit and major thoroughfares, including the Trans-Canada Highway. Restaurants, shopping, medical clinics and Burnaby Hospital are all within a short drive.|
|Additional site features||We offer a number of modern amenities, including a rehabilitation treatment area, library, quiet room, lounges and lovely outdoor space.|
|Parking and transportation`||Close to public transit. Street parking available.|
|Social and recreation programs||Our recreational programs promote active living, health, wellness and education. Residents enjoy art and music therapy, as well as culturally-specific programming such as Chinese and Italian social clubs.|
|Spiritual program||Catholic Mass and a non-denominational service are offered weekly.|
|Pets||Live-in pets are not permitted; however, pets are welcome to visit on a leash. We also offer a visiting pet therapy program for residents who enjoy interacting with different animals.|
|Medical assistance in dying||On-site assessment and on-site provision available.|
|Hairdressing||On-site beauty salon services are available for an additional fee.|
|Foot and nail care||Regular visits by a foot care nurse are available for an additional fee.|
|Additional services||Optometry services, private physiotherapy and occupational therapy are available for a an additional fee.|
