Our mission is to provide quality, holistic care to elders with complex health needs in a safe, multicultural home that supports meaning and purpose in their lives.

The Whalley and District Senior Citizen’s Housing Society governs the operations of Kinsmen Lodge, and for the past forty-three years has been dedicated to providing quality and holistic care to seniors and older adults with disabilities, respecting the uniqueness of the individual and ensuring the environment is one that is caring, compassionate, and safe.   We follow the Eden Philosophy of CareTM  which strives to eliminate the three plagues of the elderly: loneliness, helplessness and boredom.

The home has four long term care floors, with seven neighbourhoods, each named after a Surrey Park. The first floor contains one neighbourhood and common facilities, while the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floors are divided into two neighbourhoods.  The neighbourhoods are home to 20-23 elders; each neighbourhood is composed mostly of private rooms, one double room, a dining room, bathing “spa” room, outside balcony and lounge areas for smaller groups to meet and socialize.  All rooms have private toilets.

The care home is staffed 24 hours a day by Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses and Long Term Care Aides. Professional staff includes the RN’s, Medical Coordinator, Pharmacist, Podiatrist, Dentist, Physiotherapist, OT, Dietician and Social Worker.  Food Service Workers, Housekeepers, Maintenance Workers, Recreation Aides and Administrative Staff are also on site to provide hospitality services and meaningful activities, maintain a safe environment and assist with the management of Elder affairs.

Kinsmen Lodge has 157 publicly subsidized long term care beds. There are 143 single occupancy and seven double occupancy rooms.

Room features and personalization Each room has a private washroom, bed, night table, wardrobe, chair and areas to personalize the room for the individual.
