We are a long-term care community in Surrey, with a focus on person-centered care that values each of our residents as unique persons. We seek to maintain the exclusivity, individuality and life history of all individuals. At Laurel Place, we specialize in dementia care. Our memory care communities offer care for seniors with Alzheimer’s disease and other types of dementia. Memory care empowers seniors with memory impairment to stay as active and engaged as they possibly can, while living in a dignified, safe and secure environment.

Laurel Place has a total of 215 beds with 140 publicly subsidized long-term care, 35 convalescent care, 20 acute rehab and 20 hospice beds.

Features

Room features Each room includes an electric bed, a three-drawer dresser, a built-in closet, bedside table with a locking drawer, a pullout writing surface and all required linens. Rooms have their own accessible personal washroom, except for the four double rooms, which features a shared washroom. The rooms are wired to accommodate a small television, a telephone and Wi-Fi.

Residents may also bring a familiar personal chair from home, pictures and wall hangings or personal items to fill a lovely memory box outside the door. Radios and televisions are also welcome.

Security Keypad or key card entrance to the building and the unit/neighbourhood.
Smoking This is a non-smoking care community.
Parking and transportation Paid parking onsite. Public transportation is nearby within walking distance.
Additional site features The common area lounge has air conditioning, television, telephone and Wi-Fi. The building has a secured inter-building courtyard.

Programs

Social and recreation programs  Social recreation and activity programming are provided seven-days-a-week and include outings on our shared wheelchair accessible bus. Staff physiotherapists supervise and assist residents with strengthening programs.
Spiritual program We cater to different denominations and everyone is welcome to attend pastoral services done onsite.
Pets Pet visits are allowed and some volunteers provide this service as well. We have two house cats, two birds and a variety of fish in our aquariums which our residents can enjoy at their leisure.

Hairdressing  Hair salon or barber by appointment with associated fee.
Foot and nail care Foot care services available by appointment with associated fee.
Additional services For an additional fee, there is a mobile dentist, hearing aid services, optometry services, walker and wheelchair tune-up services, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and companion services available by appointment.

Gift/tuck shop and onsite social worker available.
