Lakeshore is a 56-bed long term care home with both private and semi-private rooms.

The long term care beds are a combination of funded and private pay. Lakeshore is a single-story residence with three wings and a central common area with an elegant, welcoming feel. There is an outdoor patio and spacious grounds for the enjoyment of the residents. 

We believe in providing a caring environment that nurtures the holistic well-being of residents, supports relationships within the community and encourages the growth and development of both residents and our care team. We deliver person-centred and best practice care in a respectful, caring and responsible manner by working together with our residents, their primary caregivers, families and Fraser Health. 

We believe our residents deserve excellence in care and we strive to achieve this by working as a team toward our common goal – A happy and healthy resident. 

We are a non-denominational facility and accept residents of all nationalities, languages, cultures and religious affiliations. Although English is our primary language, we have staff members who speak English, Punjabi and Tagalog. 

Lakeshore has 56 long term care beds (53 publicly subsidized). There are 42 single occupancy and seven double occupancy rooms.


Room features and personalization Room furnishings include an electric hospital bed, dresser, bedside table and wardrobe and all linens.

We recommend that residents bring in a favourite chair, lamp, television, telephone and decorative items that will personalize their room. There are cable outlets and telephone jacks in each room. For safety reasons we do not allow rocking chairs, small rugs and electric heating pads.
Accessibility We cannot accommodate motorized scooters or electric wheelchairs. The site is wheelchair accessible, manual wheelchairs are used throughout the building  
Security Security features include key padded doors and video monitoring of common areas, entrances and exits. Call bells are in all bedrooms and bathrooms  
Smoking Our home is a non-smoking facility with no amenities available for smoking. Smoking must be off site.  
Location information  Lakeshore is located in Coquitlam on the local transit line. Walking distance to Como Lake and convenience store.  
Additional site features Lakeshore provides 24-hour professional nursing services to people who are no longer able to stay at home safely. We can accommodate residents requiring dementia care.  
Parking and transportation Wheelchair and visitor parking available. On Coquitlam bus route. 


Social and recreation programs  Lakeshore offers a robust recreation program seven days a week. Activities include word games, reminiscing, table games, puzzles, exercise class, music programs, school visits, gardening, baking, crafts, 1-1 visits and birthday and holiday celebrations 
Spiritual program Interdenominational church services are held every Sunday, with several local community churches contributing. A variety of other spiritually based programs are available throughout the week  
Pets We have regular pet visiting program in place. We also welcome visits from family pets if we have current immunization paperwork on file in the facility.  
Medical assistance in dying On-site assessment and available.

Additional services

Hairdressing  On-site salon with hairdressing services 1 day per week for an additional fee. 
Foot and nail care Foot care nurse services every 4-6 weeks for a fee.  
Additional services - Mobile dental services available for oral screening and hygienist services, for a fee.
- A team of physicians manage and provide medical care to all residents.
- Life labs visits weekly for laboratory services.
- A registered dietitian oversees the nutrition and meal service.
- A pharmacy provides delivery of all regular and as needed medications and regularly reviews the medication profiles of each resident.
