Dania Home is a 2 storey long term care home with 102 beds, 6 of which provide respite accommodation.

Dania Home aims to provide quality housing and long  term health care for seniors in our community, reflecting our Danish history.

Dania Home focuses on quality of care and services and their team devotes time and resources to continually learn how to improve and provide the best possible care and service to residents.

There are 102 publicly subsidized long term care beds at Dania Home. All rooms are single occupancy rooms.


Room features and personalization
Each room includes a single electric bed, arm chair, night table with a locked drawer, a wardrobe and a private bathroom.

We invite you to personalize your living space with items that will create a greater sense of home. These may include a television, radio or clock (must be CSA approved and cleared by Dania’s maintenance prior to use). Paintings, photos and ornaments on your rooms picture rail are also welcome additions to your personal living space.
Additional furniture items must be approved and not compromise safety of the resident or staff.
Lamps with halogen bulbs and rocking chairs are not permitted.
Accessibility Elevators and large hallways accommodate wheelchairs and mobility aides. Secure walking paths on grounds. 

Central bathing spa rooms equipped with heated towel warmers and special lifting devices for safe resident transfers.
Security We are committed to a culture that values and promotes resident and staff safety. We provide:
- Monitored sprinkler fire system.
- Call bells in bedroom, bathrooms & common areas.
- Keypad entry at exterior doors and to the neighborhood entry doors.
- Video surveillance at exits.
Smoking For residents able to smoke safely and independently a smoking gazebo is available on the main floor grounds.
Location information  Located on Norland Avenue just off Canada Way.
Additional site features Exceptional park-like grounds with a secured walking path enjoyed by dementia residents and their families. The site provides a complete “campus of care” consisting of independent/supportive living, assisted living and long term care on the same site with some respite beds available.
Parking and transportation` Parking and public transportation are nearby. 


Social and recreation programs  Recreation and activity programming include community outings, fitness, current events, crafts, music and spiritual events.
Spiritual program Dania Home is dedicated to providing opportunities for spiritual expression for our diverse cultural and ethnic resident population. There are a variety of religious services and visits.
Pets We have a visiting pet program but currently cannot accommodate residents’ pets.
Medical assistance in dying On-site assessment available.

Additional services

Hairdressing  A hairdresser/barber salon is located on our 2nd floor. Services are offered Mondays and Thursday by appointment and are provided for a fee.
Foot and nail care Foot care services (file and trimming nails and moisturizing) are provided for a fee.
Additional services Burnaby Public Library provides delivery services for residents. 

Therapeutic Garden on site for residents and families to enjoy. The garden is accessible to all and can accommodate walkers and wheelchairs.
