Valhaven Home is part of Tabor Village, a not-for-profit Christian society specializing in care for older adults. Tabor Village's ‘campus of care’ includes independent living, assisted living and complex care. Tabor Village is an affiliate of Fraser Health.

Tabor Village is a vibrant community where seniors and their families experience ‘care from the heart’ with Christian compassion and respect.

The residence is a small home located in a pastoral setting in the Mt. Lehman area, near Downes Road in Abbotsford.

There are 26 beds long-term care beds at Valhaven; 22 beds are publicly subsidized. All rooms are single occupancy rooms.

Features

Room features Rooms feature a bed, mattress and night table. Towels and linens are provided.

Residents are strongly encouraged to personalize their rooms with furniture, a television, personal items, pictures and paintings.
Accessibility All areas are wheelchair accessible.
Security Valhaven is equipped with a key padded entrance, a locked external door and video monitoring for security.
Smoking This is a non-smoking care community.
Parking and transportation Parking is available onsite.
Additional site features Valhaven has a lounge and a large dining room for meals, events and activities.

We are located in a residential neighbourhood within the Agricultural Land Reserve with limited access to public transportation. Shopping and churches are located on Mt. Lehman.

Programs

Social and recreation programs  A wide array of social and recreation programs are available to maintain independence and provide physical activity. A holistic approach encompasses the physical, social, intellectual, emotional and spiritual components of a person’s life. Activities include fine arts and crafts, fitness, games, reading and discussion, community outings, special celebrations and gatherings. Groups including church choirs and school-aged children also visit the home.
Spiritual program A variety of people and networks contribute to the spiritual well-being through a team that includes family, friends, medical and nursing staff, religious leaders and volunteers.

Spiritual care may be a quiet companionship presence, just listening or an expression of love and prayer. It includes Sunday worship, morning prayers, Bible study, televised worship services, music programs and many other faith based activities.
Pets Pets visit as part of the Valhaven's recreation activities.

Hairdressing  Hair salon or barber available with associated fee.
Foot and nail care Foot care nurses are available for foot care services and can provide referrals to a podiatrist or physician. Nail care is provided by resident care aides..
