Gateway provides a range of hospitality services at additional cost (e.g. companion services, personal laundry and additional housekeeping).

Gateway has 60 publicly subsidized units; 48 one bedroom and 12 studio suites.


Room features Each suite has ample storage space, a large private balcony and includes a fridge and stove. Studio suites have a fridge and galley kitchen area. Both have ample storage and counter space for small appliances. Residents provide their own furnishing, supplies and décor touches.
Couples are accommodated.
Laundering of flat linens (sheets and towels) and light housekeeping are provided weekly. Residents are responsible for personal laundry.
Accessibility Gateway has automatic doors, two elevators and scooter parking. There is space for mobility aids including manual, tilt or electric wheelchairs in all areas. Electric wheelchairs designed for indoor use may be permitted with pre-approval and with continued monitoring by management.
Interpreter and translation services are available.
Security Key pad or key card are required to enter the building.
Smoking Non-smoking building. Smoking is not permitted on resident balconies. Smoking is permitted in designated outdoor areas.
Parking and transportation Free parking is available onsite with additional street parking nearby.
Additional site features The main floor houses central and private dining rooms, a library, hobby room, multi-purpose room and a fireside lounge with a television and Wi-Fi. Common areas have air conditioning. Each floor also has activity rooms and coin-operated laundry services.
Gateway has a full service kitchen that provides three meals and afternoon refreshments daily. Two seating times are available for lunch and dinner and entrée options are offered with each meal. Seasonal menus are reviewed by a dietician.


Social and recreation An activity coordinator organizes daily socials, exercises, hobbies, outings, special occasions and recreational activities. We schedule music entertainers monthly and many community volunteers provide a variety of enjoyment.
Pets Residents are not permitted to have pets; however, well-behaved and supervised pets are welcome to visit. We are a B.C. Pets and Friends supporter and visiting site.

Additional services (additional fee may apply)

Hairdressing Hair salon/barber by appointment with associated fee.
Additional services Overnight visitors of residents are welcome to a maximum stay of 14 days per year. Visitors are entitled to stay only when the resident being visited is also present.
