Northcrest Care Centre provides full-time long term care and service for 106 residents, including 28 residents with behavioural transition support needs.

Northcrest Care Centre was opened in 1994 and is designed to provide home-like long term care for 106 residents. There is a secure 28-bed Behavioural Support Transition Neighbourhood located on the first floor for residents with various types of dementia. The remaining 78 beds are for residents with physical and cognitive issues that require around the clock care, service and support. 

Northcrest Care Centre is committed to continuous quality improvement and has been fully accredited since November of 2002. 

Northcrest Care Centre is culturally diverse, reflective of the diversity of our North Delta community.

There are 106 publicly subsidized long term care beds at Northcrest Care Centre consisting of 90 single occupancy and eight double occupancy rooms. 

Features

Room features and personalization All rooms have an in-suite bathroom. All basic furnishings & linens are provided. 

Residents are encouraged to make rooms more home-like by adding pictures, photographs, radio, TV, plants and comforters etc. 
Accessibility All rooms, in-suite washrooms and common areas are accessible to residents with disabilities. All areas are wheelchair accessible. 
Security Security features include Wanderguard, key padded doors, and video monitoring. 
Smoking Northcrest Care Centre is a non-smoking care home. 
Location information  Northcrest is located close to two shopping areas and is on the public transit route. 
Additional site features On-site hair salon and foot care. Regular service provided by mobile dentist and optometrist. 
Parking and transportation On-site parking with overflow capability at Sunshine Hills Church. The home is located on a public bus route. 

Programs

Social and recreation programs  Social and recreation programs are provided 7 days per week. These include music therapy, special entertainers, community outings, exercise programs, arts & crafts and cultural celebrations. Recreational calendars are published monthly and available on the web site. 
Spiritual program Spiritual programs are offered by various churches and temples etc. and are organized based on the needs and requests of residents.  There is no formal pastoral care program.
Pets Visiting pets are encouraged. The St. John’s Ambulance Society regularly brings dogs on site to visit residents. 
Medical assistance in dying On-site assessment and on-site provision available. This service would be organized through, and provisioned by, the Fraser Health Authority.

Hairdressing  There is an on-site hairdresser. Fees are charged. 
Foot and nail care There is on-site foot care. Fees are charged. 
Additional services Limited occupational and physiotherapy.

On-site (mobile) dentistry and optometry through independent providers.

Clients must meet Home and Community Care requirements and criteria for admission. A health care needs assessment will be completed to confirm eligibility. See the eligibility requirements for home and community care section of our website.

Referral

Referral by case manager at a Home and Community Care office is required. To access service call the Home Health Service Line for more information; do not contact the care home directly.

Fees

There is a monthly accommodation fee; additional fees may apply for incidental services.
