Ambulatory Day Care provides acute care services to patients admitted for day procedures such as endoscopy, gastroscopy, IV therapy and other procedures which do not require overnight stay.
Procedures may include general surgical, urological, ear/nose/throat, eye care and scopes (cystoscopy, endoscopy, bronchoscopy, gastroscopy, colonoscopy and sigmoidoscopy). Some acute care sites also have a Medical Daycare unit which performs these services. Individuals should be prepared to present their BC Care Card. Appointments required.
