Mental health treatment and balance for individuals over 65 years of age who have age-related mental health disorders or behaviours.

This program provides mental health treatment and balance for individuals over 65 years of age who have age-related mental health disorders or behaviours. Disorders may include dementia and other serious, complex and ongoing mental illness such as psychosis, mood disorders and may or may not be accompanied by substance use issues

Many individuals in this program also have ongoing physical health care needs and/or significant behavioural challenges that are caused by the mental illness. This often makes it difficult for the individual to live in a regular residential setting for older adults.

The goal of this program is to balance the individual’s mental illness so he/she can live in a more open setting.

The average length of stay is two to three months.
