Mental health assessments for children and youth with a broad range of mental health concerns which may include depression, anxiety and behaviour challenges.

The General Teaching Clinic Team, which consist of psychiatrists, a clinical social worker and psychiatric residents, provides mental health assessments for children and youth with a broad range of mental health concerns which may include depression, anxiety and behaviour challenges. We provide the following services:

  • Assessments and treatment recommendations
  • Short-term treatment such as individual or family therapy may be available
  • Second opinions for complex or treatment resistant mental health disorders

Children and youth 6 to 18 years of age

Referral

The General Teaching Clinic accepts referrals from general physicians, pediatricians and other medical specialists. We are unable to accept self-referrals from families.

Families referred to the General Teaching Clinic must be willing to have their child or teen participate in a multidisciplinary teaching environment.
