Julie leads and supports Professional Practice, Quality, Learning and Research.

Julie oversees a range of teams which impact the quality and safety of clinical services at Fraser Health. She is accountable for the Access and Flow Team, Clinical Quality and Patient Experience services, Infection Prevention and Control including the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program, Learning Strategies and Professional Practice, Minimum Nurse to Patient Ratio support team and Nurse Practitioners Program. As the Chief Nursing and Allied Health Officer, Julie has responsibility to partner with the Allied Health and Nursing and Midwife Policy Secretariat to contribute to the strategic direction and leadership for the professions of nursing and allied health practice in British Columbia.

Julie has worked for Fraser Health as a registered nurse for 28 years, starting as a new grad in acute medicine. Julie’s clinical experience has been in acute, long-term care and community with a specialization in geriatrics and wound care in the community setting. She has worked in various clinical and operational leadership roles in Fraser Health and has held provincial and national leadership roles in nursing organizations. Julie holds a Masters in Nursing Education from the University of Victoria and has completed the B.C. Health Leadership Development Collaborative.

Julie’s vision is to advance compassionate quality practice environments that support nurses, allied health professionals, physicians, staff and leaders to contribute and grow and that support people to have their health needs met with an exceptional experience.
