Overdose prevention services aim to prevent unregulated drug deaths, and reduce the health, social and economic harms associated with substance use.
Overdose prevention sites provide the following services:
- Witnessed consumption of unregulated substances and rapid response in the event of an emergency
- Harm reduction supply distribution
- Safe sharps disposal
- Take Home Naloxone training and distribution
- Drug checking
- Referrals to health and social services including mental health and substance use supports
