Healthy Youth Relationships (Canadian Red Cross)
This interactive course for students helps develop knowledge on healthy relationships and aids in the prevention of gender-based violence.
Violence Is Preventable program (BC Society of Transition Houses)
Offers free, age-appropriate presentations in schools and provides self-directed courses for students to learn more about gender-based violence, safety and supports.
Out in Schools program (Vancouver Queer Film Festival)
Fee for service (sliding scale), film-based presentations designed to engage middle and secondary students in discussions about being a member of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, including experiences of homophobia, transphobia and bullying. The site also offers a film library for classroom use. This resource aligns with B.C. curriculum and supports educators teaching sexual orientation and gender identity in the classroom.
Children of the Street (PLEA Community Services Society of BC)
Delivers interactive, age-appropriate workshops aimed at preventing the sexual exploitation of children and youth. Their workshops educate students about online safety, boundaries, healthy relationships and how to recognize and respond to exploitation risks.
Offers professional development for teachers on topics including anti-oppression, gender diversity, inclusion, mental health and social justice in education. These workshops provide educators with the knowledge and tools needed to foster respectful, safe and inclusive classrooms.
The Sex Education Circuit (Shift Education, Jessy Wollen)
Offers comprehensive sexual health education lessons that focus on having youth cycle through stations on various health topics that can be implemented during a physical and health education (PHE) class without the need for a designated classroom space. This is a for purchase program with the possibility of a one-time free session.
