What's happening?
The new loading dock is now open and hospital support services have moved into the lower level of the new Jim Pattison Acute Care Tower at Royal Columbian Hospital.
Now that hospital support teams have moved in, the Interim Support Building (ISB) at the corner of East Columbia Street and Sherbrooke Street will be closed and demolished to create new parking.
Over the next several months we will be orienting and training our clinical teams in the new building to ensure a seamless transition of care. There is no public access to the new tower until we open our doors for patients in early 2026.
Impacts to you:
- There will be no impact on patients and families.
- Neighbours may notice more trucks using the new loading dock.
About the project:
- The new Jim Pattison Acute Care Tower will modernize Royal Columbian Hospital, increase the hospital’s capacity, and improve timely access to quality patient care. Visit our website for more information.
