Across Fraser Health, nine health care foundations help propel hospital expansions, technology advancement and local health services—connecting threads of community generosity to meaningful enhancements in care.

From new equipment to expanded health services, enhancements across our system are often made possible through threads of generosity from our community. At Fraser Health, a network of nine health care foundations builds upon government health care funding by weaving these many threads into a strong fabric that supports technology advancement, hospital expansions, patient comfort and staff and medical staff well-being.

Last year, our foundations collectively raised over $76 million—reflecting their meaningful work as ambassadors of our care teams and the deep gratitude of our communities. Read about the impact of our foundations in 2025 below.

Advancing capital projects

Last year, Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation shared first glimpses inside the soon-to-open Jim Pattison Acute Care Tower, an achievement made possible through years of shared commitment. This milestone included hosting Jim Pattison in June to unveil the tower’s exterior signage, celebrating the collective impact of philanthropy.

With strong community support, Delta Hospital and Community Health Foundation achieved a milestone year—completing the $18.25 million Beedie Long-Term Care Centre campaign, committing to an $8-million campaign for a new Endoscopy suite and supporting the opening of the South Delta After Hours Urgent and Primary Care Centre.

The Surrey Hospitals Foundation also reached record-breaking donor support with the opening of two new cardiac catheterization labs at Surrey Memorial Hospital—bringing urgent heart care closer to home. This long-needed milestone reflects strong community support and will mean faster treatment and better outcomes for patients south of the Fraser.

Enhancing equipment and technology

Langley Community Health & Hospital Foundation supported the transformation of Langley Memorial Hospital’s medical imaging departments this year through the purchase of two new X-ray machines and a new mammography machine. This new technology will help provide improved quality and resolution, shorten wait times and reduce patients’ exposure to radiation.

In the same stride, Eagle Ridge Hospital Foundation funded a new endoscope video surgical system, enhancing diagnostic and procedural care. This state-of-the-art 4K system features a large high-resolution monitor and ScopeGuide technology, allowing physicians to visualize scope movement, reduce looping and improve patient comfort.

Thanks to community generosity, Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation achieved their goal of fully funding a $500,000 endobronchial ultrasound unit. Currently only available at Royal Columbian Hospital, introducing this technology to Abbotsford Regional Hospital will improve access by allowing patients to receive specialized care closer to home.

Supporting community health and patient well-being

In May, Peace Arch Hospital Foundation’s NOLA Gala raised $1.5 million towards their Healing Starts Here campaign, a project that enhances patient nourishment and healing by supporting a new production kitchen and upgraded food services at Peace Arch Hospital.

Initiatives like Ridge Meadows Hospital Foundation’s Enhanced Corridor Care Project also continued to support patient comfort and dignity while navigating needs of a growing population. These efforts were advanced by funding raised through two Smile Cookie campaigns by local Tim Hortons owners, the Hammoud Family and Sandhurst Group, providing over $69,000 to improve patient experience.
