Langley Lodge is a local not-for-profit organization, operating since 1974 by Langley Care Society.

The Lodge was completely renovated and expanded in 2011 to provide single occupancy living and 2009 facilities standards.

Langley Lodge is well-known as a vibrant long-term care community that delivers accredited quality of care for seniors and the elderly. Our mission is to ensure the quality of life for the elderly in our community. We have adopted the Eden philosophy, ensuring a personalized, enriched, home-like living environment.  

24/7 professional nursing care and an interdisciplinary team provide a holistic care environment which enables residents to maintain independence and autonomy. 

Quality of life programs  provide an enriched daily living experience with music, gardening, horticulture and spiritual care. Volunteers add to our staff complement and help with delivering a full and rounded social/recreation calendar for the benefit of our residents.  

Three meals and two snacks per day are provided. All meals are prepared onsite in a commercial kitchen. Menus and special diets are planned by a licensed dietitian.  

Langley Lodge has 139 long term care beds (121 publicly subsidized). There are 127 single occupancy rooms and six double occupancy rooms.


Room features and personalization All rooms have private bathrooms. Rooms are furnished with a bed, dresser and night table. Linens and towels are provided. There are many comfortable lounges and activity areas for residents to enjoy. Dining is on every level, one in each home area.  

There is space room for an arm chair, small table or desk and lamp.  Pictures can be hung and TVs can be set up on a desk or dresser.  
Accessibility The home is fully wheelchair accessible. Motorized scooters are not permitted.  
Security The home is secure with secure entrances and exits, wanderguard protective devices, external video monitoring, and keypads at external doors and door alarm systems.
Smoking There is an outdoor smoking gazebo. Smoking is not permitted in the residence. In December 2019 all FHA and FHA affiliated long-term care sites will be completely smoke free.  
Location information  Langley Lodge is located in downtown Langley City, adjacent various amenities and transit services. There is a library, City park, recreation center, shopping and restaurants within a 1km radius.  
Additional site features There is a spacious, secure outdoor courtyard with gardens, which have been designed by a landscape architect and maintained by a group of Master Gardener volunteers. 
Parking and transportation There is limited free visitor parking on site and free street parking.  


Social and recreation programs  Social and recreation programs are provided 7 days a week and evenings. They offer a range and variety of activities to appeal to a wide variety of interests and participation levels.  
Spiritual program Local Christian churches provide weekly church services in the home. A Chaplain is on-site part-time to minister to small groups and individuals with a non-denominational, spiritual wellness approach. 
Pets Pet visitation is permitted. There are a few small birds, animals and fish that reside in the home. Otherwise, pets are not permitted to move in.  
Medical assistance in dying On-site assessment available. On site provisions is available with restrictions. Langley Lodge does not provide MAiD for people in the community who are seeking MAiD. It will be considered for residents who reside here for the long term and who are deemed eligible according to the MAiD criteria.

Additional services

Onsite OT and PT services are available without additional charge for functional assessments, wheelchair assessments, and PT programs for maintenance of physical strength and mobility. 

Other fee-for-service offerings: mobile Dentist; visiting Dental Hygienist; visiting optician. Pharmaceuticals are provided by a local pharmacy; billing process is determined by the pharmacy.

Clients must meet Home and Community Care requirements and criteria for admission. A health care needs assessment will be completed to confirm eligibility. See the eligibility requirements for home and community care section of our website.


Referral by case manager at a Home and Community Care office is required. To access service call the Home Health Service Line for more information; do not contact the care home directly.


There is a monthly accommodation fee; additional fees may apply for incidental services.
