Evergreen Baptist Care Society is part of the Evergreen Campus of Care located in White Rock, B.C.
Evergreen Baptist Care Society provides Long Term Care for 252 residents in two buildings (Terraces & Pointe). These residents live in 9 communities of 25 or 29 residents each.
Evergreen Baptist Care Society provides for all the needs of our Long Term Care residents including personal care, disbursing medication, recreation therapy on each community, spiritual and pastoral care.
Our Mission Statement is “Demonstrating God’s love, we will provide safe, quality health care that meets the physical, social, mental and spiritual needs of residents in a campus of care community where all can live with dignity.”
Evergreen Baptist provides for complex care for medically fragile and behaviourally challenged residents, supported through a multi-disciplinary approach supporting person centered care.
Evergreen Baptist staff and support services includes nurses, care aides, dieticians, pharmacist, support service workers, recreation and music therapists, kinesiologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, pharmacists, doctors, chaplains, administration staff, wound clinician, dentist, dental hygienist, podiatrist, foot care nurse, hairdresser, ophthalmologist, geriatric psychiatrist, lab services, and hospice support.
Evergreen Baptist works with residents and family to improve the care and services we provide. We hold Family and Resident Councils and New Family Welcome Teas every two months. Family members are engaged through planning and designing the delivery of care services. Families are involved on the Board’s Quality and Safety Committee and Ethics Team, in Emergency Drills and Resident Safety Exchanges, and special events held on campus such as our BBQs, Christmas Dinners, and Quality Fair. Care conferences are held with Family and Residents once a year.
There are 249 publicly subsidized long term care beds at Evergreen Baptist. All rooms are single occupancy rooms.
|Room features and personalization||All resident rooms include a bed, wardrobe, nightstand and chair. Bedding and Towels are included.
Residents and families are encouraged to make the room look and feel like home. They can put items on the wall and bring in other furniture as long as it is deemed as safe for residents and staff
|Accessibility||All areas of our campus are accessible by wheelchair|
|Security||Codes are required to enter and exit the buildings. There is video monitoring and in the Terraces building there is also wanderguard security system.|
|Smoking||Evergreen is a smoke free campus. There is no smoking allowed on the property.|
|Location information||We are adjacent to a transit bus stop, and within 3 blocks of a shopping mall and other services.|
|Additional site features||We are a campus of care with independent and assisted living buildings. We have a chapel for church services and other performances and meetings.|
|Parking and transportation||Parking is available for free on site. Bus stop is located outside main entrance|
|Social and recreation programs||We have recreation staff on each community as well as music therapists and chaplains who provide spiritual programming. We have a bus for out trips.|
|Spiritual program||We have two chaplains and a chapel. We have Sunday services as well as weekly Hymn Sing and bible study on the communities.|
|Pets||Pets are welcome to visit, but are not allowed overnight.|
|Medical assistance in dying||On-site assessment available.|
|Hairdressing||Hairdresser is on site during the week. These are extra fee services|
|Foot and nail care||We have a podiatrist and foot care nurse. These are extra fee services|
|Additional services||We have a dentist, hygienist, ophthalmologist, dieticians, pharmacist, kinesiologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, pharmacist and doctors. Some of these are extra fee services.|
