Kiwanis Care Centre is a fully accredited long term long term care home operated by the Kiwanis Care Society.
Kiwanis has been providing licenced long term care since 1982.
Kiwanis Intermediate Care Society was founded in 1979 and first opened the doors of their care facility in 1982. Our philosophy is a commitment to ensure relationships between residents, families, volunteers, board and staff are based on trust, honesty, respect and maintenance of each person’s dignity.
Kiwanis Care Centre provides personalized care in a home like atmosphere.
The residence has 75 publicly subsidized long term care beds. There are 59 single occupancy and eight double occupancy rooms.
|Room features and personalization||
Room includes a bed, bedding linens, dresser, locking night table and chair.
Residents are encouraged to bring small accessory pieces of furniture to make a room comfortable and familiar. Television’s and radio’s must be checked by maintenance.
|Accessibility||Building is completely wheelchair accessible and has 2 elevators.|
|Security||Kiwanis features Wander guard and key padded doors, stairwells, elevators, and video monitoring.|
|Smoking||Kiwanis has a designated smoking room. There is also a space on the patio set aside for smoking. Residents are also able to smoke outside, off the premises.|
|Location information||Located off McBride Blvd and 8th Avenue, Kiwanis is close to Royal City Centre and Downtown New Westminster.|

|Parking and transportation||Kiwanis features an underground parking lot. There is also access to street parking and is close to public transit routes.|

|Pets||Kiwanis is home to a red bellied parrot named Mango. Pets are allowed to visit as long as they are well behaved.|

|Hairdressing||Hairdresser on site. Fee for service.|
|Foot and nail care||Kiwanis supplies a foot care nurse who visits monthly. She provides all foot and nail care at a set fee.|

Open 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.
Clients must meet Home and Community Care requirements and criteria for admission. A health care needs assessment will be completed to confirm eligibility. See the eligibility requirements for home and community care section of our website.
Referral by case manager at a Home and Community Care office is required. To access service call the Home Health Service Line for more information; do not contact the care home directly.
There is a monthly accommodation fee; additional fees may apply for incidental services.
