Ultrasound services are available by appointment at Royal Columbian Hospital.
A requisition from a health care provider is required to receive an ultrasound. Your health care provider will contact you with your ultrasound appointment date, time and location. Appointments are scheduled based on the urgency and type of scan ordered.

Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) ultrasound: Call 604-520-4132 to change or cancel your MFM ultrasound appointment. MFM is a specialized ultrasound service for pregnancies that need extra monitoring. If you have questions about other pregnancy ultrasounds, please call the general ultrasound line at 604-520-4640 .

Ultrasound services are located on the main floor of the Columbia Tower (Blue Zone). From the main foyer of the Health Care Centre (HCC), follow the blue line on the floor to Medical Imaging.
MFM ultrasound is located on the 6th floor in the obstetrics outpatient clinic in the Jim Pattison Acute Care Tower. Take the main elevators up to the 6th floor and turn left. Follow signs for OB outpatient clinic.

Eligibility
Ultrasound does not use radiation. It is generally considered safe for people of all ages, including pregnant women and developing babies.
Referral
Physician referral is required.
