Surgical patients who must stay in hospital are required to visit the Pre-Admission Clinic before the day of surgery.
Services provided may include blood tests or x-rays, education about the procedure, and a visit from an anaesthetist.
Other services may include:
- an assessment health needs;
- completion of medical history and physical examination;
- and consultation with specialist or therapists involved in the patient's care.
