Find important information about a clinic that has been selling Ayurvedic products that are not regulated by Health Canada.
It has come to the attention of Fraser Health, the BC Centre for Disease Control and Health Canada that the A1 Herbal Ayurvedic Clinic Ltd., an Ayurvedic (traditional Indian medicine) business located in Surrey has been selling Ayurvedic products that are not regulated by Health Canada and which have shown to contain high levels of lead, mercury as well as prescription medications. This clinic has been ordered closed by our environmental health officers.
Notice will be going out to all those whom we know to have seen this practitioner to immediately cease taking products from this clinic and that if they have concerns about their health, they should visit their physician and inform them of the products they have been taking.
Symptoms of lead poisoning include:
- Anemia
- Headaches/irritability/ slowed thinking
- Constipation
- Stomach pain
- Miscarriages/stillbirth
Symptoms of mercury poisoning include:
- Mood swings
- Memory loss
- Muscle weakness
As a result, you may see an increase in individuals seeking medical consultation following consumption of these products.
