Learn more about the role of the health care support worker and how they provide additional support in long term care and assisted living.

What is happening?

We are adding health care support workers to our team. Health care support workers are training to become health care assistants and will provide non-clinical and non-direct support to residents.

What does a health care support worker do?

Your care team supervises the work of these health care support workers. While they do not provide any hands-on care, they can do the following:

  • Make beds
  • Support with meal set-up and preparation
  • Set up selected equipment
  • Help with recreation activities
  • Provide companionship
  • Provide light housekeeping

How might this affect you?

You will see health care support workers in our care home. These added new workers will allow us to spend more time with you.
