Healthy aging means supporting physical and mental well-being, independence and quality of life as people age.

What is healthy aging?

Healthy aging is a lifelong process. It means supporting physical and mental well-being, independence and quality of life as people age.

How we age is shaped by our experiences and environments across the lifespan. That’s why promoting healthy aging requires a whole of life approach.

Fraser Health’s Population and Public Health Wellness Promotion Program works with Fraser Health teams, community organizations and Indigenous partners to support healthy aging. Older adults are meaningfully engaged in planning and decision-making.

Learn more about how Fraser Health is promoting healthy aging in our communities through the Wellness Promotion Program Healthy Aging Strategy 2026-2031.
