This week's kudos go to our amazing people at Surrey Memorial, Mission Memorial and Langley Memorial hospitals.

“The wonderful nurses in the birthing unit made my experience at Surrey Memorial Hospital a pleasant and informational one. My fiancé and I recently had our first baby boy on Jan 5th. When we were first administered Melanie In Triage was one of the nurses that initially looked after us and she was very friendly and was able to address all of our concerns. I have a phobia of needles, IVs and hospitals and she made the initial intake very calming and relaxing. Melanie eased my nerves and made the anticipation of the up coming C section bearable. After surgery Colleen was one of the night nurses that was assigned to look after us and she was great. Colleen had great tips to help nurse my baby and get him on track in regards to his weight. As a first time mother the feeling of not being able to provide nutrients to your baby can be a very upsetting and nerve racking feeling and Colleen really helped to ease my worries and anxiety.”

“Our son was born at Peace Arch Hospital’s maternity unit on January 4th, and we just wanted to send you a thank you for all your amazing work. Everyone there from top to bottom, start to finish, was great to us, and kept what can obviously be a long and tough few days a very memorable experience. You were extremely busy and full when we arrived, but you still managed to work some magic to get us a great room, and keep the standard of care very high. Special mention to Terry, who was our nurse for most of the first day. She was amazing, could not have asked for a better person to help us from the start. But all the doctors and nurses after that (Bev, Sharn, Babette, Amanda, Melanie and others) also treated us extremely well. After a very long day of labor Dr. Jackson and the O.R. staff had to swoop in and take all the glory with a late C-section! But again he and all those staff were outstanding. Thank you truly, again.”

“I would like to thank the staff in Surgical Daycare at Peace Arch Hospital. You hear a lot of complaints about hospitals but this staff and surgeon should be highly complimented for their professional care and attention to details when dealing with their patients.”
