High Five banner

This week's kudos go to our amazing people at Jim Pattison Outpatient Care and Surgery Centre, Eagle Ridge, Royal Columbian, Burnaby and Surrey Memorial Hospitals.

I had a laminectomy. After the surgery and recovery, I would like to extend a high five to all staff at Eagle Ridge Hospital that I had the privilege to meet. I found everyone to be courteous, informative, professional and caring. Once again, thank you for the positive experience.

My husband had an angiogram at Royal Columbian Hospital yesterday. We were very impressed with the fine service he received.

The cardiac nurses, and cardiologist, Dr. Tycho Vuurmans, were not only competent but so personable and helpful which made the experience for both of us much less onerous. Thank you!

The nurse and pharmacist at the Heart Health Clinic at Jim Pattison Outpatient Care and Surgery Centre have been very good as well.

Our family would like to express sincere appreciation for the quality of service, warmth and sincere care that staff offered our beautiful 98-year old mother. Mom stayed at the Royal Columbian Hospital from September 13 and died on September 28.

Dr. Diane Stancu, worked very hard and fought to save our mom's life. She visited daily and took the time to talk to us.

Dr. Afzal helped (mother) and reviewed her medication to make her very comfortable.

September 13, Isolation Room Two, Sherrie Pel, an amazing and helpful caring nurse, who made our mom very comfortable [was] efficient and friendly. She went above the call of duty – she treats patients like family.

Maureen, a friendly and helpful care aid helped mom and made us all very comfortable, [she is] an extremely kind person.

Maria, a friendly care aid, who brought ice cream and put a big smile on our mom's face and found us a comfortable chair to sleep at nights.

On September 18, Emmanuel, a nurse, [was] very patient and helpful.

On September 22, Scott, a nurse, [was] very friendly, efficient and always ready to help; lots of patience.

On September 24, Dana and Katie, these two nurses deserve to be praised. They are extremely efficient and very caring, always ready to help, [they] both work well together.

On September 26, [mom had a] private, beautiful room painted with butterflies.

Nurse Debbie [was] very friendly, smart and knowledgeable on medical issues. [She was] very professional [and] caring on our mom's last days.

Care Aids, Rimpy and Harminder, who cleaned and showered our mom with lots of warmth and care. Harminder asked the pastor from Fatima to pray for our mom, [she is] an amazing human being.

I would like to express our warmest thanks and gratitude on behalf of our family to every one of these employees that cared for our beautiful mom who died on September 28. Please recognize each one of them for their excellent quality of service.

Thank you.

I just spent three days in palliative care at Burnaby Hospital watching my brother-in-law pass. I was absolutely impressed with the staff and [everyone] I came across in this ward. It made a difficult time bearable and they are all beautiful souls to do what they do on a daily basis. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
