This week's high fives go to our amazing people at Abbotsford Regional, Chilliwack General, Fraser Canyon, Langley Memorial, Royal Columbian and Surrey Memorial hospitals.

For Abbotsford Regional Hospital

I had an outstanding nurse in the ER at Abbotsford [Regional Hospital] after the Coquihalla bus crash. If there is any way of passing on this message of gratitude to her, please do. She deserves recognition for her incredible care.

You looked after me after my Greyhound accident. You gave me space to cry when I was feeling overwhelmed and then were brave enough to come in and ask me if I wanted to talk about it. Thank you for listening. You were exactly what I needed. Thank you for your compassion. It made all the difference in a really difficult time for me. Please keep teaching, you must be great at it!

For Langley Memorial Hospital

I was brought to emergency at Langley on February 20th after an assault at my place of work. My Nurse was Emily. I just wanted to say how great she was.

Emily your compassion was palpable! Thank you for truly caring for me. I left without being able to say thank you.

Thank you for being so concerned for my well-being. I noticed!

Thank you for caring to want to finish the conversation we started.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I felt cared for.

For Surrey Memorial Hospital

I have seen nurse practitioner Hannah Varto two times in the last week. Her bedside manner and knowledge were exceptional. As I do not have a family doctor, I have been going to walk in clinics to seek medical care, and every time I have left disappointed with their fee for service way of practicing medicine, where a patient is ushered out of their office as soon as possible with a prescription and nothing else. If our health care system ran the way that Hannah runs her clinic, we would all be much better off. She is caring, attentive and kind.
