Information Bulletin

Starting November 2, the main entrance to Royal Columbian Hospital will be located at the Emergency Department.

We have relocated this entrance as part of phase two of the Royal Columbian Hospital redevelopment project:

  • The old main entrance to the building, as well as the parking lot and drop-off area in this location are now closed.
  • The Emergency Department entrance is now drop-off only. There are a number of parking options available if you need to park at the hospital.

Please park here:

  • Day time
Health Care Centre underground parkade on level P1
Mental Health and Substance Use Wellness Centre underground parkade
Access to both of these parkades is from Keary St.
  • Night time
Parking lot across East Columbia St. (next to Columbia Medical Centre)
Private pay parking lots on Keary St.

Obey all traffic control people and look for signs directing you where to go.

Give yourself extra time to get to the hospital and expect some delays.

These changes will help us prepare to build a new acute care tower as part of phase two of the Royal Columbian Hospital redevelopment project. This multi-year, multi-phase project will transform all aspects of the hospital and result in 50 per cent more beds. To help ensure parking is available for people who need it, we added about 450 more parking spaces this summer with the opening of the Mental Health and Substance Use Wellness Centre.

We appreciate your patience as we work to enhance the services we provide at Royal Columbian Hospital.
