Husband and wife holding son with caption "Why immunize? Our baby Riley"

“We will not be able to move on from this pandemic unless we get vaccinated.”

Michael: “I wanted to do my part. I'm recommending it to my patients so I felt like I needed to set an example and get the vaccine when it became available. Especially with working in long term care, I didn’t want to risk bringing COVID into a care facility.

Personally, I wanted the vaccine for our son. It was strange for us having a baby during the pandemic. Our family and friends had to meet Riley in May through a glass window. Kerry has a big family in B.C. but we haven’t been able to have them all over yet to hold Riley and celebrate his arrival. Also, my family in England have not been able to travel to meet him yet. We want them to come over as soon as possible. But only when it is safe to travel.”

Kerry: “I felt like it was the right thing to do for my patients, family and friends. I remember how stressful it was for myself, being pregnant, during the start of the pandemic. By getting vaccinated, my risk of transmission of COVID-19 goes down, so that will help protect my patients, including pregnant women and children.

Also, I can't wait for my family to be able to hold Riley.”

Kerry: “If people want life to return to normal and to do things they love like gathering with family and friends or travelling, then they need to get the vaccine. We will not be able to move on from this pandemic unless we get vaccinated.”

Michael: “The evidence is out there showing that it’s safe. So please do your part.”
