I wanted to mention the excellent care I received at Royal Columbian Hospital. I was very nervous about my cerebral angiogram procedure, but the staff in this unit were wonderful and caring and they put my mind at ease. All the nurses were hardworking, but I wanted to mention Nurse Cheryle, who prepared me for the procedure. She has a wonderful demeanour with patients. Thank you again.
Twice, I was a lung biopsy patient in Ambulatory Care and was lucky enough to have Nurse Sheryl each time. I cannot say enough about Sheryl. Her upbeat personality immediately put me at ease and her professionalism was outstanding. She looked after every detail of my stay, cheerfully explaining procedures and ensuring I was comfortable. I want to give a great big shout-out to the North 51 unit and all the teams that have been supporting my mom. I would like to give a special thank you and gratitude to Dr. Jurkowski, who has continued to keep me in the loop and genuinely cares about their patients.
The staff working in the surgical unit made my first surgical experience pleasant. They guided me through the seamless process by explaining who they were, what they were doing and what would happen next. Everyone (including housekeeping) on the unit greeted me with smiles. It was apparent that providing patient-centered care was their aim as they were patient and compassionate.
