Changes to courier parking at Royal Columbian Hospital effective July 17.
What's happening?
The Royal Columbian Hospital (RCH) Interim Support Building (ISB) loading dock is closing, and the Jim Pattison Acute Care Tower (JPACT) loading dock is opening. The location of courier parking will move temporarily to the Health Care Centre P2 on July 16, 2025 until Winter 2026 (date to be confirmed).

Once JPACT opens: four passenger vehicle courier parking spots will be available in the Columbia Street parking lot. Entrance is off East Columbia Street. |
Impacts to you:
- Couriers will need to park in designated courier parking stalls in the Health Care Centre parkade level P2 until the acute care tower opens in 2026. See attached maps.
- Travel pathways to receiving department will change.
- There is no passenger vehicle courier parking at the loading dock apart from deliveries to operating rooms.
Mitigation Plan:
- All regular vendors will be scheduled for an in-person orientation to the building. We will send out invites with the date and time for the orientation.
- Orientation packages will be sent to courier vendors upon request
- Interim courier parking and the travel path to the elevator is shown on drawings attached.

Interim Courier Parking between July 17, 2025 – August 20, 2025:
Stalls 293 and 294 in Health Care Centre P2 (next to funeral home and coroner stalls).
Interim Courier Parking between August 20, 2025 to First Patient Day:
Stalls 295 and 296 will be the courier parking stalls. After the funeral home and coroner stalls are relocated to the morgue sallyport, we will convert the existing two funeral home and coroner stalls to two courier stalls. Existing courier stalls will revert to staff stalls.
