What’s happening?

Wesgroup will be installing a bridge across Keary Street from their development to Royal Columbian Hospital on July 24 and July 28 to 31, 2026.

  July 24  July 28 - July 31 
 Time 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. All day, starting at 7:00 a.m.
 Location Keary Street between East Columbia Street and Brunette Avenue Keary Street between East Columbia Street and Brunette Avenue
 Work Bridge columns arrival – Crews will deliver and install the bridge columns outside the Health Care Centre (HCC). Bridge move from Brunette Avenue to Keary Street
 Impacts Single lane alternating traffic on Keary Street. No disruptions to hospital operations or parking access. There will be construction fencing around the work zone outside the HCC. Full road closure on Keary Street. Hospital entrance by the cafeteria will remain open except for up to two hours overnight on July 28 while the bridge is put in place.

Impacts to you:

  • A full road closure is in effect on Keary Street from Monday, July 28 at 7:00 a.m. through to Friday, July 31.
  • The entrance to the hospital parkade will remain open via Brunette Avenue. You can also access the parkade from the Jim Pattison Acute Care Tower entrance on Sherbrooke Street.
  • Flaggers will be on-site to direct traffic and pedestrians. Expect delays.
  • The sidewalk will be shut down during this work and there will be an alternate route for pedestrians.
  • No construction noise is expected overnight. There will be noise from vehicles and traffic personnel.
