X-ray (radiology) services are available by appointment or walk-in at Fraser Canyon Hospital.
Address Notes
X-ray services are in the Medical Imaging department on the main floor. From the main entrance, Medical Imaging is across from the reception desk.
If you are a walk-in patient, check in with Medical Imaging.
If you have an appointment, register through the Emergency Department. If the Unit Clerk is not available, use the tablet to register then proceed to Medical Imaging.
X-ray walk-ins and appointments
Available Monday to Friday: 9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
X-rays are available on a walk-in basis, however appointments are recommended to help reduce your wait time.
Note: Appointments are required for long-term care patients, leg lengths and skeletal survey X-rays. Appointments are recommended for X-rays with 3 or more body parts.
There are 2 ways to book an X-ray appointment:
1. Call us at 604-860-7711. Bring your requisition form to your appointment.
2. Your health care provider can fax us your requisition form. In this case, your provider will contact you with your appointment date and time.
To change or cancel an appointment, please call 604-860-7711.
Hours of operation
Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for patients staying in the hospital and emergencies.
Eligibility
Most people can have X-ray exams, including newborns, when deemed necessary by a health care provider.
Let your referring health care provider, X-ray technologist or radiologist know if there is any possibility that you are pregnant. Precautions are taken to limit radiation exposure to the fetus. Lead shielding is no longer needed for today’s X-ray machines.
Language (s) Offered
If you do not understand or speak English well enough to have medical conversations, an interpreter can be requested at the time the appointment is booked. The interpreter will join by phone or video, if video is available. Please note, this might take time. This is a free service.
