A patient partner is a patient or family member who provides input to influence Fraser Health practices and policies. Patient and family partners are volunteers who dedicate their time and expertise to help make the health care experience better for others.

There is opportunity to influence the planning, delivery and evaluation of health care in Fraser Health. There are a variety of ways to provide your perspective. We want to hear from you!

You can participate at the level that you feel comfortable as there are a variety of ways to share your perspective. Your role and responsibilities will vary depending on the level of engagement you choose and the project or initiative you are working on. Here are some of the ongoing opportunities to be involved in as a partner across Fraser Health:

  • Committees (regional and hospital advisory committees.)
  • Focus groups
  • Story telling
  • Education
  • Policy development and review
  • Workshops/conference planning
  • Document reviews
  • Quality improvement
  • Program development

We recruit patient partners through a variety of ways including, the Patient Voices Network, a community of patients, families, caregivers and friends who collaborate with health care providers to bring change and improvement to the health care system.
