This week's kudos go to our amazing people at Eagle Ridge Asthma Clinic, Abbotsford Regional, Surrey Memorial, Royal Columbian, Ridge Meadows and Langley Memorial hospitals.

From Dec. 26, 2016 to Jan. 13, 2017, I was a patient in Royal Columbian Hospital Neurosurgery 4N, with a few nights in 4S. I had surgery on my spine by Dr Nikolakis and also received care from Dr. Lee and Dr. Mendelson. I want to commend the Royal Columbian Hospital for its amazing staff. The technicians, porters, etc were caring and professional. The nurses were exemplary in their care -- I was treated with respect as they cared for my needs and did not get the feeling that my requests were a burden. Thank you to these wonderful women and men who made a difficult time in my life less stressful. They gave me confidence in the care I was given and hope for better days to come.

I just spent the better part of two days in acute care at Langley Memorial Hospital. I want to thank Laura and the rest of the nurses for their patience and exceptional care.

I can't say I look forward to a return visit, but it is comforting to know that if I do have to come back some day there are professional and caring nurses like Laura to assist in my recovery.

My 9-year-old daughter has asthma. We visit Eagle Ridge Asthma Cinic at least once a year to monitor her progress and conduct her breathing test. I assume people usually take time to complain about something. However, it is rare to see people take time to send compliments. I would like to express our appreciation to a person who took care of my daughter the last two times we visited. His name is Eric. He takes time and answers all our questions. He is very good with kids.

My daughter is a twin and her brother was with us on her last visit to the clinic. Rather than leaving my son out of the room or circle, he took time and effort to get him to be part of it. My daughter feels more comfortable when her twin brother is around and Eric is very well educated to sense that. Both me and my wife appreciated his professionalism as well as his positive attitude both of which mean a lot to patients and their families.

I want to bring to your attention how helpful social worker Dawn Orser was to me yesterday. I had some concerns about my brother's anger issues and his wanting to leave the hospital. Although Ms. Orser was having her lunch when I peeked in, she was so very welcoming (even though she was chewing a carrot at the time!) When I spoke about my concerns she was quick to suggest a family meeting with patient, family and caregivers. I was very pleased with her kind and caring answer. I went away feeling validated and heard.

Today my nephew sent me a message about a meeting on February 9....wow....I can only say thank you very much. I am very appreciative of this lady as well as the staff that cares for my brother and that is not always a cake walk. Thanks again Ms. Orser.

On January 18, I had surgery at Abbotsford Regional Hospital and was placed in room 3124 on Baker. I ended up staying for four-plus days and would like to say that the staff on Baker 3 were the absolute best. They care about the patients' well being and do everything to make feel us good about recovering. A big thank you to the hospital and staff .

I would just like to say THANK YOU to all the staff in the NICU at Surrey Memorial Hospital. Thank you for all the hard work that you do, not just for my son, but for all patients. You are all very patient and very helpful and my family and I cannot express our gratitude enough.

I would like to take a moment to send a shout out to the wonderful staff at the day surgery department at Peace Arch Hospital. I was there this morning for a colonoscopy because of some symptoms that I had been having. I, understandably, was very nervous and anxious about this test and I have to say that the staff were amazing. They made me feel totally at ease and they have an extremely organized, systematic department. Everyone that I dealt with there were fabulous. My results were positive so on my side that is great. Should I ever have to do another test I would definitely feel more secure going in knowing how efficient the staff are. Thank you Peace Arch Hospital.
