Managing the ER is challenging, but I’m so lucky to work with an amazing team and we’ve focused on improving patient flow to provide the best care we can. Being a respiratory therapist allowed me to see the whole hospital, since we follow patients from the ER, unconscious and intubated, to months later fully mobile. I’ve always had a systems lens, which is what you need to make changes.
